Revisited: Architectural shapes and “Synthetic Oceans” | fashion by Alba Prat
When we first came across Alba's fashion works, we thought we are looking at conceptual pieces designed by seasoned, possibly well known fashion designer. It was much to our (pleasant) surprise that artist behind "Synthetic Oceans" and "Digitalized" is fresh Fashion Design graduate from Universitat der Kunste, Berlin.
What caught our eye, was Alba's mature sensitivity to architectural shapes, where shadow from the form plays unexpected, protective-like role in designs structure.
In "Digitalized" collection Alba Prat uses textured geometrical forms in her fabric patterns and seems that architecture and geometrical form plays influential role here as well.
And very appropriately so.
The geometrical-pixelized pattern of fabric is influenced by 1982 cult film 1982. (In the movie - using laser people are converted in to pixels).Jonas Lindstroem
The film has a strong retro character given by the era of production, which coexists with a high-tech nature. Both aspects are the basis of my collection. ~Alba Prat~
"Synthetic Oceans" collection colors and hues are reminiscent of stormy ocean waters and neoprene fabric was used (usually used for wetsuits) to achieve futuristic look.foto di matti foto di matti foto di matti foto di matti foto di matti foto di matti foto di matti
